The source to TAPEMAP is no longer being made available.  There are
multiple reasons for this, the most significant being that I am tired
of the myriad versions floating around, each with one or two features
that aren't in any other version.  Often all references to the
original and primary author (me) have been removed.  I have put a lot
of work into trying to merge other people's updates back into my
version.  This has been made extremely difficult by the fact that
many of these updates have been made to very old versions of the
source -- no effort was made to contact me to get current source or
arrange for coordination of effort.
 
TAPEMAP as distributed is marked APF authorized.  Some people have
expressed concern about running an APF authorized program that they
don't have the source to.  Well, you run vendor-supplied APF
programs without source.  I am well known on the net and at SHARE,
and there is no way that I would do anything unreasonable in a
widely distributed program.  The only privileged function that
TAPEMAP does is that if it's running APF authorized, it alters the
JFCB to set BLP when it does the OPEN TYPE=J.  MODESET is not used
in TAPEMAP.  If your installation allows BLP in JCL, you can run it
non-APF authorized with LABEL=(,BLP) in the JCL.
 
ACF2 shops controlling BLP access need to create a BLPPGM entry for
TAPEMAP unless the users running TAPEMAP have TAPEBLP or TAPELBL.
